Planes, Trains and Automobiles

If you love comedies then you are probably very familiar with the Movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles  starring Steve Martin and John Candy! This was a late 80’s classic about a man traveling home with a less favorable companion.

Well now this title can actually describe the means of transportation that my family ventured on for the last 10 days! To be honest it was kind of fun! My daughter Carmen has been on more flights than most people already (or so it seems) so we are always thrilled to have a good time in the sky.

Our trip consisted on visiting two churches (and having a phone interview with a third) as we have finalized our top three churches that we would consider working with. The first was in Maryland. This called us to FLY from Tampa up North! Carmen is always a hit with the people around her.

We didn’t realize but the part of Maryland we were in was about 20 minutes from D.C. We were able to borrow a car and drive around a bit. Although we didn’t make it to D.C. during this visit we did go to National Harbor and see some wonderful sights.

After our time there had come to an end we then bored the Amtrak (a First time for the Anderson’s) and traveled up to New Jersey. We ended up having another really good visit here. It was here that we had the opportunity to see much of a beautiful landscape that I didn’t know New Jersey had (Sorry folks, I’m from NY remember 🙂 ). Seriously though, it was very beautiful.

We then flew out of the smallest airport that I have traveled from. There was only one security checkpoint that everyone was going through and they only loaded one flight at a time. They didn’t even have a belt to put your checked bags on, you had to carry them down to security and hand them over. The funniest thing is that this is the place where we had a few good conversations with people. Nonetheless it was a positive experience.

So with that ALL said we will be moving from Florida soon. In like two weeks soon! We will make one final big trip to our (potential) new home. We will need to get a few things finalized with the church BUT by the end of July we should be squared away with our new Church that I will serve a Pastor for.

Which church? Well if you asked this question you’ll just have to wait for that. We aren’t revealing that just yet ;). They don’t say patience is a virtue for nothing….

    Tom,
I am praying that the church the Lord leads you to is Faith Baptist Church in NJ! I think Carmen would agree! 🙂 Stephanie is having “Carmen withdrawal”! I absolutely loved getting to know you and your beautiful family. You guys just “fit perfectly” in our Faith family. Looking forward to hearing the outcome! Until then, I will keep praying God’s perfect will.
    Blessing to you,

    1. Jayne (Awesome way your name is spelled), we had a wonderful time visiting FBC. You (and your family) truly made us feel not only welcomed but a part of the FBC family. Thank you for your prayers as we are excited to see where the Lord directs us.

I'd love to read your thoughts
