You know lately I have been in a slump…
I have just been struggling greatly. I mean I am barely eating (if you know me that’s the FIRST sign that something is wrong….lol) I don’t want to do anything, I am not sleeping well, I mean this is an all out SLUMP!
As I think through all of my responsibilities everything that my family has endured we are tired… However God has continued to provide. I don’t know about you but I have days when I wake up and I just want to go back to sleep. Not because I didn’t sleep enough, not because I woke up before the alarm but because I don’t want to face the day. I am exhausted.
However I am reminded of the prayer of Paul in Ephesians 3. He prays for the believers spiritual strength. He prays that they may understand Love of God (an experience it) that surpasses all knowledge. I read that and I am encouraged… I am reminded that God is continually at work. That my strength is rooted in Him, and that He lives in me.
So my slump… Yea it happens from time to time… But God is able. God is constantly pouring out His grace and mercy in my life. God is bigger than I think doing more than I can and that power is working in me…
So my slump… Forces me to lean on Him even more. Reminds me that alone I can’t get it done but God is always getting the job done.
I thank God for His strength, His love and His power that works in my life…
Ephesians 3:14-21
14 For this reason I kneel before the Father 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. 16 ⌊I pray⌋ that He may grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power in the inner man through His Spirit, 17 and that the Messiah may dwell in your hearts through faith. ⌊I pray⌋ that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth ⌊of God’s love⌋, 19 and to know the Messiah’s love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God.20 Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us— 21 to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
We all go through those slumps…thank you for this post from the heart.
